Have you ever found yourself in the middle of a presentation preparation, only to realize that the perfect video you found online could elevate your message, but you have no idea how to incorporate it into your Google Slides? You’re not alone! Many people struggle with the technicalities of embedding videos to enhance their slides. In this post, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step process to seamlessly insert a video into your Google Slides, ensuring your presentation stands out and captivates your audience.

To embed a video in Google Slides, click on the slide where you want to add the video, then go to the “Insert” menu, select “Video,” and either search for a video on YouTube or enter a URL of a video. Alternatively, you can embed a video from Google Drive. After you’ve placed the video, you can resize and reposition it as needed.

To dive deeper, start by opening your Google Slides presentation and navigating to the specific slide where you’d like the video to appear. Click on the “Insert” menu at the top of the screen, then select “Video.” You will see three options: you can search YouTube for a video, enter a YouTube URL directly, or select a video from your Google Drive. If you choose to search for a YouTube video, simply type relevant keywords in the search bar, and a list of videos will appear. Click on the video you want to use, then select “Select” to embed it into your slide.

If you opt to use a video from Google Drive, ensure that the video is already uploaded to your Drive. Once you click on “Google Drive,” navigate to the video you need, select it, and click “Select.” After embedding, you can drag the corners of the video to resize it or click and drag to reposition it anywhere on your slide. Furthermore, if you click on the video, a toolbar will appear, allowing you to play, mute, or set playback options like autoplay once in presentation mode. This functionality allows you to customize your presentation further and ensure your audience is engaged and informed through the effective use of video content.
