How to play clue

Imagine a rainy afternoon when friends gather in a cozy living room, curling up with snacks and a nice cup of tea. They’re looking for a fun, engaging game to play together, something that will spark their deduction skills and keep them on their toes. As they sift through the game closet, someone pulls out the classic mystery board game, Clue. “How do you actually play Clue?” they inquire, eager to delve into the world of intrigue and deduction.

To play Clue, each player chooses a character and moves around the game board, which represents a mansion, to collect clues about the murderer, the weapon, and the location of the crime. The goal is to deduce these three elements before anyone else does.

To elaborate, Clue is designed for 3 to 6 players, each assuming the role of one of the game’s characters: Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Professor Plum, or Mrs. Peacock. The game begins with the selection of three cards–one representing the murderer, one the weapon, and one the room–placed in an envelope in the center of the board. Players take turns rolling the dice to move through the mansion’s various rooms, where they can make suggestions about the identity of the murderer, the weapon used, and the crime scene. By making suggestions and observing the cards other players show in response, players gather evidence to narrow down their suspicions. The game continues until someone makes an accusation; if they are correct, they win, but if they are wrong, they are out of the game. With its mix of strategy and luck, Clue remains a thrilling way to engage with friends while unraveling a classic whodunit mystery!
