To play Cards Against Humanity, players take turns being the Card Czar, who reads a fill-in-the-blank prompt from a black card. Other players respond with their funniest white card in hopes of making the Card Czar laugh.

To elaborate, Cards Against Humanity is typically played with 4 to 20 players, although it’s best with around 6-8 for optimal fun. Each player starts with a hand of ten white cards, which contain various phrases or words that are often humorous or irreverent. During each round, one player is designated as the Card Czar and draws a black card, which features a statement with a blank that needs to be filled in by the other players using their white cards.

The Card Czar reads the black card aloud and the other players choose one white card from their hand that they believe best completes the statement, or one that they find the most humorous. After all players submit their responses face down, the Card Czar shuffles the white cards and reads them out loud. The Card Czar then selects their favorite response, and the player who submitted that card earns a point for that round. The role of Card Czar rotates each round, ensuring everyone gets a chance to play and judge the submissions. The game continues until a predetermined score is reached or simply until players decide to stop playing, usually resulting in laughter, inside jokes, and plenty of memorable moments.
