How to share steam library

Uncategorized

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you wanted to share your favorite video games with friends and family? Perhaps you’ve just gotten into a new genre, and your friend is eager to try out the titles you’ve been raving about. Or maybe you’re living with a partner who also enjoys gaming but doesn’t want to buy the same games again. If you’re a Steam user wondering how to share your library effectively while keeping your account secure, you’re in the right place.

To share your Steam library, you’ll need to enable Family Sharing in your Steam settings, allowing other users on your computer (or authorized devices) to access your games securely.

To set up Steam Family Sharing, first, open the Steam client on your computer. Click on “Steam” in the top left corner and select “Settings.” From the menu, choose “Family,” then locate the “Authorize Library Sharing on this Computer” section. Make sure to check the box to enable Family Sharing.

Next, you’ll need to log into your Steam account on the devices where you want to share your library. You can then authorize a user to share your library by logging into your account on their device. Simply navigate back to the Family settings, and under “Eligible Family Sharing Accounts,” you’ll find the accounts that can access your shared library. Select the specific ones you wish to authorize, and they will receive an email notification confirming they now have access.

Keep in mind that not every game in your library may be shareable due to restrictions placed by publishers. Additionally, when someone is playing a game from your library, you won’t be able to access it at the same time. It’s essential to communicate with those accessing your library to maximize the experience. Enjoy gaming together!
